[DECtalk] speaking of dectalk

 Hi,

I have to disagree here. MP3 compression is lossy. While it might be argued 
that not much might get lost where DECtalk is concerned, I feel it should be 
left up to the user in question whether to convert to MP3. Remember, since 
MP3 is a lossy format, what is lost in the conversion to MP3 is lost forever 
and can never be recovered, not even by converting back to wav.
Not only that, but the MP3 technology is covered by various patents, so 
allowing it to be used would no doubt cost the developers money for each 
copy they sold.
