[DECtalk] dectalk external working with jaws some what

hello update and some help
I got a null modem cable and switched jaws to dectalk express
and wala it speaks
problem is its jibberish.
is there any setting either in control pannel I need to set or something.
this is a step in the write direction though
anyways any help is needed if you want to hear what it is doing let me know 
I can upload a sample.
