[DECtalk] strange things with DecTalk USB

the DecTalk USB comes with a program that you can "send" a file to the unit 
that way.  I wouldn't think cerial would matter much, as the error i get is 
"bad phoneem" or "error in phoneem"
and yes the version numbers are totally differant.  no 1.0 either. it is 
something totally strange. for what I heard, the unit I have  has the latest 
firmwair in it.  also? when I try loading a dictionary file into the unit. 
it says it is too big, they came with .dic files, that you can load in for 
differant languages.
not sure if any of this helps you guys out or not, in helping me.
