Did you check the driver speed? You might need to recalibrate the driver.

I drug out a couple 2 e computers.  One had a bad 4164 ram chip
which I ordered from jameco and is fixed.  I'm haveing problems
with some of my drives.  One makes a lot of noise as they usually
do when starting, but then says i o error.  I've cleaned the
head, but not certain what else to check.  It has been a long
time since I was inside of one of these things.  One video I saw
on line mentioned an aspect disk which I've never heard of.  Does
anyone have a good talking speed check?  I've got a utilities
disk with some diagnosis stuff on it, not sure what to do with
some of it.  Anyhow, write off list if you want.
