[Blindapple] repairing apple 2 e drives

[Tiny Puppy-butchb]

Does anyone have any experience repairing apple 2 e floppy 
drives.  I have one that just clatters and makes noise and then 
says i/o error.  I've cleaned the head, but still does the same. 
I was thinking long ago I had a utility for checking speed of the 
drive and it talked, sort of.  Anyone got any suggestions?
