What unzip program are you using?  What folder are you unzipping to?  It
sounds like mess.exe isn't in the c:\mess folder.  Make sure that the
contents of the zip file is actually unzipped in c:\mess or a short, easy to
find folder.  Windows Explorer should show a bunch of files and subfolders,
including a README file, mess.exe and other files.  The disks\ folder should
have a bunch of .dsk images.  If not, you're unzipping to the wrong place.
I suggest using 7-zip instead of the internal XP unzip utility, but it
shouldn't matter what you use as long as the files are unzipped to somewhere
you can find easily.  It sounds like it's unzipping on your desktop or under
your downloads folder which is probably not what you want.  The screen
reader itself shouldn't matter as MESS won't work with any screen reader due
to how it writes to the screen when it's emulating a machine.  Try this,
just to see if it helps:

1. Make a new folder called c:\mess and make sure it's empty.

2. Copy the zip file to c:\mess.

3. Try unzipping the zip file in the c:\mess folder, making sure it extracts
to the current folder and not a subfolder.  See if you have mess.exe and a
bunch of other files.
