Hi,

     I know this, and I have been doing that. A Microdrive in my Apple, a CF 
reader and CiderPress on my Windows PC. However, I wanted to get him going 
at no cost to him, using equipment he already has.

If you want to save lots of time just get the compact flash card reader for 
the ii.
