First, recording in Stereo. Are you using Osara as your access
plug-in for Reaper? If so, move to the track you wish to record on,
press the Applications key, scroll down to Input: Stereo, right
arrow, and select the channels of your sound card you want to record
from.<br>

Second, splitting items. I found this one to be a little tricky at
first, but I eventually figured out how it works, so I'll give a
step by step example to try and explain it. Again, this assumes
you're using Osara for Reaper accessibility.<br>

Let's say I have three items on a track, and I want to split item
two into three more items. I move to item two, and hit S. My track
now has four items. I move to item three, then move my edit cursor
to where I want to make the next split, and hit S again. My track
now has the five items I wanted. If I had merely moved to item three
and hit S, I would have heard "0 items added," because you can't
split at a point where a split already exists.<br>

In the past I have used Sonar with Jaws, but since the Jaws
scripts haven't been supported in a long time and they are having
some issues with later versions of Jaws, I am trying to make the
transition to reaper. Inconsistencies like being only able to make
one split then when trying to split a different item, I am told no
items added have frustrated me. Has anyone else seen this issue
and know a workaround or what I may be doing wrong. Before trying
to make the split, I am making sure the track I want to make the
split on is the last touched track. <br>

Secondly, is it possible to get reaper to record in stereo? If I
connect the line out from my electronic drum kit to the line in on
my sound card, Sonar records in stereo, but reaper only records in
mono, which isn't what I want. I have looked in the I/O dialog for
the last touched track by pressing the letter I and it shows that
the track is set to two channels, but I am not really sure what I
should be looking for? Does any one have any hints or suggestions
for this one?<br>
