<DIV>Hi Christopher.</DIV>
<DIV>While I agree that by default Reaper seems to be more accessible on the
Mac when you open it up, the current flow is very inefficient for a serious
production work where speed and time is important. THis is why both Windows
and Mac version do need enhancements in order to to be comparable to something
like Sonar with either JSonar or Caketalking scripts.</DIV>
<DIV>I started writing a Mac OS plugin for Reaper, but just can't find the
time to jumpstart this and move the code from the "noodle" state into
something I would not be ashamed to share with the public! <grin></DIV>
<DIV>If you wish, I would be happy to share with yu the Dropbox where
you can download and try out the plugin.</DIV>

<DIV>Best,</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Jamie, in answer to your question, I just
opened it up, hit command+T to create a track, then went into the track
strip, found the volume, vo+shift+down arrowed to interact with it, and then
did a vo+up arrow. Yes. I was able to increment and decrement
the slider with absolutely no issue at all.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The only querk so far I have seen is when you
get to the text box for the track name, you can't just start typing the name
into it. Routing the mouse then doing vo+shift+space to literally
click doesn't work either. The trick is, when you get to the text
field, hit vo+space. Then, you'll hear Voiceover say, "Double click
name." Then, you type the name of the track, then hit return to apply
the change.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Aside this though, I haven't yet found anything
not to work. Granted, I've not really opened much of anything in it,
or played much yet with it on the mac side, but from what very little I can
see on the outer core of things, it looks extremely doable!</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Hey, do we actually have another e-mail list
for the discussion of Reaper with Voiceover on the Mac? If we don't,
and you all are at all interested, I'd be more! than willing to set up a
list for this purpose through my hosting provider.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>You guys just let me know if you'd like me to
proceed with setting it up. It probably wouldn't take me but about 30
minutes at most to create the list, and get it all configured on the back
admin end, so it's totally totally conveniently something I can do, and am
extremely willing to do. You all just let me know.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Out of interest, can you actually adjust the sliders for volume, etc.
in, say, the track view? I ask because I realised the other day that the
base accessibility code for the UI toolkit REAPER uses for these controls
is actually open source. I took a look at the code and, like on Windows, I
couldn't see any code for making adjusting these controls accessible, even
though it does indeed make the values readible. Of course, I could just be
missing something, hence my curiosity...</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Guys, I'm going to keep this e-mail, unlike
my normal nature, very terse, and incredibly short/sweet to the point,
as it probably won't effect a lot of you. It's Reaper related yes,
but only somewhat indirectly. I think though you should read
this. If it's over 2 paragraphs long, I'll vbe shocked, so
just go ahead and read it. I think you'll be glad that you
did.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>So, as a lot of you know perhaps, I am both
a Windows as well as a mac user. Well, I decided today, what the
heck, let me install Reaper on my Yosemite machine and check it's
accessibility out, if there be any at all. I must say that I was
not very hopeful.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Folks? I? am! blown away! It is
flawless! I have yet to find a screen that doesn't read! All
the buttons are seeming to be completely properly labeled, all the
preferences screens read correctly, even the actions screen is totally!
totally! accessible. These developers really! really! deserve a
huge! amount of credit. This is wonderful! Cockos just
gained even more! respect from me. Not that I didn't have it
before, but now, I really! have very high hopes for this DAW! I
know one thing: I definitely! am e-mailing their support and
congratulating them on such a fantastically accessible recording
sollution. This is absolutely awesome!</FONT></DIV>
