I just tried this by importing drum loops from a couple of
libraries
and formats at random (yup, scientific methodology is alive and
well).
Even with files that have meta data imbedded, it wasn't working
for
me. Then I undid a few changes and hey presto, all of a sudden
it
started working! I exported a homemade loop of some drums I
tracked
earlier this week with the project tempo imbedded, and got the
same
behaviour in that it works seemingly at random but there's always
some
level of undoing involved before it will. Can't get a
consistent
pattern yet.

Even by Reaper's standards, this is getting
proper weird! On the one
hand, I guess it doesn't matter. On the other, it
matters to me very
very much lol.

Scott

On 9/5/13,

like that. Its a
> misunderstanding in the term loop. When DAW's refer

in sync with the project tempo, doesn't
> change the fact that it's a 4
bar piece of audio that just happens to be at
> the project tempo. You
will have to *mark* it as a loop in order for the
> changining the
number of bars trick in its properties to work. This and the
>
loop item check box will not work unless you first *convert* that piece
of
> audio to a*loop*. SInce reaper supports Acidized wav or rex
files (both
> common 3rd party loop standards) if you have access to a
library of these
> files import one of these into a reaper project and I
bet the trick Indie
> pointed out would work. Reaper has a way to create
loop files so that it
> will conform to tempo and this loop trick will
work. Unfortunately I don't
> remember how to do this off hand but
the reaper manual explains this and its
> doable with a screen reader
has i have done it in the past on both mac and
> pc versions of
Reaper. So yeah for just having apiece repeat a few times,
>
copying and pasting may be quicker. The advantage however of converting
it
> to a loop first however, means you can change tempo or etc and the
loops
> will playback at the new tempo. Great for remixing or other
production work,
> or hell if you want to see how a song will sound if
the band played it a
> little faster or slower. Hope this helps
and i was clear enough. Any
> questions , let me
know.
>
>
> On Sep 1, 2013, at 4:14 PM, Scott Chesworth
