I've found that shift space is causing all the trouble. Don't know where I got the idea that I had to use it to select tracks, but it's at the root of my problems. Once shift space has been pressed to select a track, it stops you from using shift down arrow to select several tracks, and stops you from selecting items when you have more than one track in your project.<BR>
Simply unselecting the tracks again using shift space doesn't reverse the restrictive behaviour. I still haven't found a way to select a portion of audio in several tracks in one go though. Trying to understand reaper seems to have become my new obsession. It's going to keep my OCD happpy for months.<BR> </div></body>
