the effects window is new since I upgraded from V3.77 to V4.2x...never a problem
getting list boxes and having all items in a combo box show with the earlier
version.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Subject:</B> [RWP] Effects Presets</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I'm poking around into why the presets don't seem
to appear in the effects dialog, and have some interesting
discoveries.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>For background, make a track with control+t,
record some stuff on it, then press the f key, and choose an effect for the
track, and press enter.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Now, you land in the effects dialog. One of
the items in there is a comboBox that says No Preset. If you arrow down,
it still says no presets. There are actually factory presets in here,
but you can't tell it. If you add a preset of your own, then it now
shows up, along with the rest of the factory presets. But, if you close
reaper, or delete the effect, or any number of other things, it reverts back
to the condition where the presets don't show up.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>But, there is a way to get them back. NVDA
users can just poke around in the object model, because if you access the
object that contains the phrase, no presets, just tab too it, then press
insert+NumPadMinus to focus the NVDA object there, , you can then press
insert+downArrow to enter that object, then insert+rightArrow to move to a
button that says, open.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The object says it has a default hotkey of
alt+down arrow. But, in jaws anyway, alt+downArrow is not opening the
list. But, doing the default action on that object, the one that says,
open, is doing the trick. Then, all presets show up.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I'm not sure how you do the default action via an
object in NVDA. but, knowledgeable experts will know.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>for my own part, if I can't figure out why jaws
isn't letting alt+down arrow work, I will make an addition to my scripts to
force the issue by doing the default action on that object when alt+down arrow
is pressed in that context.</FONT></DIV>
