<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Colin, thanks fo rthis.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The problem I am having is that, so far, every
single one of these VST pliggins I have looked at, which come with reaper,
absolutely none of them seem to have presets.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>After I press f, and then choose an effect, I am
placed back in that little dialog where you can muck with the
effect.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>AFter tabbing a couple three times,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>there is what jas calls a comboBox, which says, No
Preset.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>And, for the position information, it might say 2
of 5, or 2 of 22, or something like that, suggesting that there should be more
selections there.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>If you up arrow, you hear restore factory
defaults.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>If you down arrow, you are just stuck on, no
preset.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>And, no matter which you choose, no additional
lists or comboBoxes appear.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Something doesn't seem right about that. And,
oddly, many of the pluggins don't do anything at all in their factory
settings. You would expect people to configure settigns that at least had
the plug doing something when you selected it. It seems like you have to
bring up the parameters, with shift+p, and poke at it that way until you get
something to happen.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>So, I'm still a bit baffled about that preset
thing.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Am I doing something wrong here?</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>jim:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>firstly, not every plug in has presets already in
it, but most of the plug ins that come with reper do. It's a bit odd,
but allot of the time there are two combo boxes, one with just a "default"
selection, and one next to that which will have the preset list.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>You have to select "default" in the first combo
box before the presets will appear in the second one.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Try the reaComp or what sounds close to that in
the fx window by hitting F, typing in "comp" into the search field, then shift
tab back to the list of availible plug ins with comp in their titles.
Once you find the plug in you want to use, hit enter on it, and the settings
window will appear. use tab to navigate through the settings window
including preset combo boxes and so on.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Roy, yep that helps. I saw that there,
but was surprised to always seeing that there are no presets listed.

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I thought there must be some other place.
But, there aren't any.</FONT></DIV>
