Hi again, x86 folder? That makes me think you have a 64 bit
<br>
version of<br>
the operating system, so you have to install the 64 bit
version <br>
of<br>
reaper itself.<br>

Hi Gian,<br>
I found the roming folder and I did find a Reaper folder in
<br>
there with<br>
components in it which are not present in the X86 programs <br>
Reaper<br>
folder. I tried moving these items to the Roming folder
where <br>
the<br>
other Reaper folder was. No success there, so I tried
moving<br>
everything back to the X86 programs file folder. No luck
when I <br>
did<br>
that either. I'm still getting the same prompt no matter
which<br>
location the Reaper folder is in. So are there yet more <br>
components<br>
missing do you think that are elsewhere, or should the
Reaper <br>
folder<br>
be in a different location? This is driving me crazy!<br>
Thanks,<br>

Hi Rikki and all,<br>
I think this is all due to where reaper installs the <br>
configuration<br>
components when you first run it without reaaccess. I had a
<br>
similar<br>
problem once and managed to fix it. What happened to me was
<br>
that<br>
windows for some odd reasons changed the path to where
reaper<br>
installed the config and other components. The usual path <br>
should be<br>
C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Roaming\REAPER. To locate your
user <br>
folder<br>
you can do the following.<br>
Type windows+R and then tipe the period sign, press enter
and <br>
your in<br>
your user folder. In there look for AppData\roaming; if you
<br>
don't find<br>
any folder named REAPER that's the problem. The folder has
not <br>
to be<br>
empty but must contain other folders in it like ColorThemes
etc, <br>
those<br>
are the missing components reaaccess wants. Probably
windows <br>
decided<br>
to put those in another path. What I did is creating an
empty <br>
folder<br>
named REAPER so that reaaccess could install. I then found
were<br>
windows put the missing components and manually moved what <br>
reaaccess<br>
put in the folder I've created in its proper path.<br>
I tried my best to explain what happened to me and I hope it
<br>
helps,<br>
even if it sounds confusing.<br>
Best regards,<br>

No worries. I just tried it on an XP machine with no
problem at <br>
all.<br>
That at least gives me a couple of options, as I have
another <br>
laptop<br>
with Jaws on it which is running XP. I'm now going to try
and <br>
fool my<br>
Windows 7 machine by copying the folder from the program

really<br>

Failing<br>
that, I'll go with XP. That laptop needed to find a good

Yep, I see from below, that you already discussed this.
Sorry.<br>
When you installed reaper, did you mess with any of the
optional<br>
checkboxes? or did you just leave them at their default <br>
settings.<br>
Likewise when installing ReAccess.<br>
If I were you, I would uninstall both of them, and reboot my<br>
machine. Then, install reper, leaving all selections
defaulted.<br>
Run reaper, an drink a really nice cup of hot tea while it <br>
thinks<br>
about itself, then close reaper.<br>
Then, install ReAccess, leaving all selections defaulted.<br>
If it still doesn't work, I would throw up my hands, and <br>
conclude<br>
that God didn't want me to do this.<br>
I wish I could help further. Or, even at all, for that
matter.<br>
I'm ot an NVDA user, so I'm not sure if that has any impact,
but <br>
I<br>
doubt it. I think several people are using that.<br>

I hate to be difficult, but I did all that! I even

Another <br>
stupid<br>

keep<br>
reaper open. I don't get any prompts that tell me that
any <br>
kind<br>
of setup has finished or to wait for a setup to

Sorry, I haven't followed this very closely.
Appopogize if<br>
stating the obvious.<br>
Last I new about this was that, when you install
reaper, you<br>
first needed to run reaper by itself, with outt
installing<br>
ReAccess. That first run of Reaper did some further
setup<br>
activities, and got things ready.<br>
Then, you close reaper. Then, you should be ready to <br>
install<br>
ReAccess.<br>
Maybe you should just uninstall everything, and run
that <br>
sequence.<br>

Just some further information here. When I go to <br>
install<br>
Reaper, in the components, I am unable to check the
<br>
"required<br>
files" component. I suspect this might have
something <br>
to do<br>
with the scripts refusing to install, but I'm just
<br>
guessing.<br>
Is there a way around this issue in the Reaper <br>
installation<br>
process? Or is this checkbox not being checked
relevant <br>
at<br>
all? Just a reminder that I'm using NVDA. Perhaps
it's <br>
an<br>
accessibility issue with that particular check box
on <br>
second<br>
thoughts, but again I'm not sure.<br>

Hi all,<br>
I only found out about reaper and its accessibility<br>
yesterday, so please forgive me for revisiting a
topic <br>
which<br>
I know has been covered following my web searches
to <br>
find an<br>
answer. I'm getting this same prompt that others
have<br>
mentioned when I attempt to install the reaaccess <br>
scripts<br>
that some components can not be found. I did run
<br>
Reaper and<br>
then exit, both as suggested by the prompt and by <br>
another<br>
list member, but still no joy! Can someone tell me
how <br>
to<br>
resolve this please? I'm running Windows 7 32 bit.<br>
Thanks,<br>
