<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Just curious about other screen readers treatment
of the media browser. Can you guys hear file names as you up and down
arrow in the folder list? Jaws is speechless about that, and needs a
little help. Well, quite a bit, really. There are MSAA objects
underneath, that listing, which means it can be corrected with a little
work. Configuring jaws to rely on MSAA for listViews doesn't seem to
help. Rather odd.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>But, I was curious as to whether NVDA, which is
apparently mostly object based, is already handling that.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>As it is, for me, practically none of the lists in
that media browser speak.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Yes, I'm playing with some simple scripts
right now. It's just that I haven't had much time to work on it.
I'll probably post my fragments some time soon, for people who want to play with
it. But, it's definitely a work in progress, with many many things
unaddressed. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>And, because I'm a reaper illiterate compared to
some folks on this list, I'm afraid I may be scripting solutions that already
exist. Unpleasant as that may be, it would be nice to know about
it.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I know we really want a screen reader-independent
solution, for good reason. I'm entirely in favor of that.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>But, I don't have any control over that. I'm
just trying to improve my own little world with the tools at hand. I'm
finding cases where jaws says irrelevant things when navigating some of the
controls, and would like to improve that, just so I can understand what the heck
is going on. Old guys like me don't need any more confusion heaped on the
plate. Understanding it all is hard enough without irrelevant gibberish
thrown in to the mix.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>But, not much progress has been made on that
front.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>So far, I've got the ability to jump to the start
or end of a time selection. The ability to easily nudge the start or end
times of that selection while hearing the audio. Hot keys for speaking the
selection start/end, and length.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>And, I have now time, selection start, end and
length, and track level all packed onto the braille display, updated in real
time. Hot keys for reading and resetting the track level meter.
One for easily determining if reaper is stopped, playing or recording.
Blending of the ReAccess training mode with the jaws keyboard help,
insert+1. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>And, my scripts speak, even if you have screan
reader turned off, which is great for avoiding those pesky "reCord" "stop", and
"play" messages.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial> </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I Think that's about it. I'm currently
slugging away at the media browser. But, my priorities could
change.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Those scripts are a supplemented version of the
most recent ReAccess scripts. Most of those scripts don't really do
anything anyway. All the work is in ReAccess itself, which is a great
place for it because, for one thing, it is faster when done at that
level.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Deleting tracks, yes, I've done that Jim, I
suppose it is early days in terms of scripting for Reaper. After all it
has taken years for Sonar to reach such a high sophistication of scripting,
and you have spent years developing the wonderful Jaws scripts for Sound
Forge.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>David, are you trying to hear the two items on
a single track at the same time?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Or, are you trying to avoid that.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I managed to achieve that today, but didn't
mean to. I was looking for how to avoid it.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>BTW, have you guys ever accidentally bumped the

that very surprising.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial> 1 How do you select and move a
portion of a track or tracks. In Sonar it is easy to select a number
of tracks and nudge them where you like.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>2 I still haven't found an answer to my
problem of layering items and hearing them at the same time on a single
