<DIV>Hi Roy,</DIV>
<DIV>You can assign volume, pan, aux sends etc. to a midi controller in the
same way you assign your keyboard shortcuts. But it's much easier to a connect
a control surface, to do these kind of things. I have a faderport and a
Tranzport. The Faderpohrt has one fader, one pan knob and a bunch of buttons
you can push to activate the transport controls as well as some buttons for
loop, markers and also dedicated buttons for automation. Read, Write, Touch
and off.</DIV>
<DIV>You can set these up when you go to preferences/control
surfaces. </DIV>
<DIV>Hope this helps a bit...</DIV>
<DIV>All the best,</DIV>
