Editing two track audio with reaper is very nice.
I use sound forge too, but now I tend to do all my two track editing
with reaper.
You just make your splits with the s key, and you can turn on ripple
editing with alt p to select whether the space stays or not.
YOu can do time slections too with alt shift left and right brackets,
but I prefer to split items.
Then you can select items with control left and right arrrows,
and use alt shift w to change volume or pan of items or change
parameters for cross-fade, and the like.
That should get you started, come see me for tutoring privately if you
get hung up,
