[Rwp] Just to better understand a difference

Hi all, earlier today Juan pointed me to the track routing window in 
order to properly set the midi output device. I'm wondering why it isn't 
necessary to access the same track routing to set the audio output in 
the case of a track configured to e.g., stereo in1/in2 audio input, it's 
enough to enable monitor input and it plays back nicely. Can someone 
explain why such a difference?
