Reaper fights this kind of recording with everything it has, lending
itself to slip editing, what you recording replacing what you recorded,
enclosed items replacing enclosing items.
So each little bit you record replaces in that spot what you recorded.
If you want sonar like action, you'll have to do several things.
First of all on the context menu of the tracky ou need to make sure
you
need to check monitor input
Also check
monitor track media when recording.
These are toggles.
Then on the advanced tab of the projects settings, yu can get there on
a track by doing alt enter,
or from the file menu,
the first thing there is to select item mix behavior, you want to set
that to items always mix.
Lastly, you need to go to
record mode menu, with alt o,
and there's a sub menu in there called
new recording that overlaps existing media item
sub menu go in there and pick
creates new media items in separate lanes, layers
then your reaper will act somewhat like your sonar did with the sound on
sound blend.
Pain in the butt I know, but that's reaper, in other ways it's more a
joy to use than sonar.
'grin'.
That email sounds familiar, you aren't Samuel are you?
