[Rwp] A strange behavior in reaper with bars and measures

Hi all,
I'm still a dumie using reaper, so possibly I'm missing something...
When I record a mélody or whatever using midi in a track, let's say it is
suposed to fill bars from 1 to 4, I record it, and everything is okey.
However, after recording, if I want to use the same item on another bar, I
copy the item and then I paste it anywhere. But, if the melody's first note
starts at the second measure of the bar, when I paste the item to another
location, the melody aligns with the first measure of the destination bar,
so all the melody looses the tempo.

Is there a way to fix it, I mean, copying an item and easyly paste it
anywhere preserving the relative position for the notes in another given
bar?

 Hmmm, sounds more complicated explained this way, hope the issue would be
understandable... :)
