[Rwp] is there a way to avoid midi cc controler conflicts?

hi all, I was controlling 2 vst’s on the same track the other day. Ide mapped one of my controllers knobs to one function on one vst and another function on a second vst on the same track, when i tearned the knob both functions were triggered at the same time how can i stop this from happening?
