[Rwp] setting fx parameters for an fx in a split item.

hi guys!
when i have make a time selection, splitted it and used the shift+e to 
insert the fx on the splitted item, how will i be able to edit the 
parameters?
i tried the shift+p but that only brings up the instrument on the 
current track, for instance the fx for sylenth1.
What i want to do is to insert an fx on a splitted item so the fx will 
only run for that part, and i want to edit the parameters on it.
I've made the timeselection, pressed shift+s to split at time selection, 
shift+e to insert the effect and then hit the shift+p to try to find the 
parameters.
something i've missed?
