[Rwp] Off-topic: Does Anyone Have Midi Quest by Sound Quest?

Jees,  I have to giv the guy credit for giving an honest response.  That's 
more than you would get from a large company, with many times the resources. 
And, he's probably telling a true story their.  And, one of the points he 
makes is the most telling one.  We aren't a big enough market to make it 
anything more than a charitable effort, one which they can't afford to do at 
this point.

Honestly,I know people love to main stream, because you just have so many 
groovy, early user experiences to chase, as you play with the latest and 
greatest thing which you would just love to use, but can't.  Time and again, 
you find that you can't, and are left out.  Very discouraging.  Still, 
people love to butt their heads against that wall.
And, there is always the issue of interacting with sighted colleagues over a 
common format.  So, I undeerstand why people want to be able to use the same 
apps as their colleagues do.  Very understandable.
But, I would really like to see blind programmers organize, and focus their 
heads around designing applications for this sort of thing, which are screen 
reader friendly from the get go.  Access is in the design, not an 
afterthought.  .  Some people believe in integration at any cost.  Others 
believe in separate but equal.  I believe in separate but superior.  There 
is no bloody reason other than ambition that we can't design our own sound 
recorders, midi editors, Broadcast platforms, etc etc.  Just think how much 
we would learn as we did it.

I'm not a windows programmer, so I would be a beginner, with infinite 
amounts of stuff to learn before I could program diddly squat.  But, it does 
seem like a very interesting thing to do.  Maybe when I retire.
.  But, that is sort of what they did with Studio Recorder, isn't it?  They 
couldn't find the thing with all the features they needed, so they built 
their owhn.  And, I hear it is a nice, responsive little package.
I would expect that editors that would suit our needs would be a lot simpler 
than what it takes to satisfy the sighted community.  No icon saturation 
bullshit, no shading, no graphical crap to screw around with.  No sixteen 
tons of enigmatic preference options.  WE would make the best damned audio 
editor on the plannet, and then we would charge sighted people extra for us 
to clamp on some sort of groovy GUI  for their benefit.  Or, just publish an 
API, and let them have at it.  Sounds like a good weekend project.
