No, it's not that, as though I do have enhancements, I don't have the necessary software installed that allows me to change it.  It's just flat.  I only have generic drivers from Windows.  I didn't actually install the full fledged software that came with the interface.  I'm wonderring though if I had the base turned up to high on my input on the interface though, thereby symulating a bit of mud/squashiness.
