[Rwp] Is it just me, or...

Is it just me, or does Reaper, by default, add a little teeny bit of compression?  I don't know where it's coming from, but my vocals have a little bit of compression on them when I play them back, and I know beyond an absolute doubt! that I didn't put a compressor on that track.  Normally, this could! be a good thing, but it's making my vocals sound all squashed.
