re: channels, just pick the one you need or want to record on... if
you are recording an entire song or something of course its better to
choose all channels, but if you want drums choose whatever one your
instrument sends midi to... that should be covered onto your
instrument's manual. For instance, korg krome send usually cannel one
because its set as the global one depending on the mode you are on,
but that is just korg. Usually drums has its default channel to 10 in
general midi.
