[Rwp] Reaper and 5.1 with audio express?

To my knowledge, the MOTU doesn't support digital passthrough, wherein
it would just pass the bit stream of it's s/pdif output without trying
to interpret it, which could then be sent to a Dolby or DTS decoder.
You could do this the analog way with an audio interface that has at
least 6 outputs, and a dedicated amp/preamp with all the available
inputs, or something that can take 6 balanced outputs from your larger
interface and convert it to a multi-channel s/pdif output, which would
then be paired with a decoder and amp. Don't know of such a thing.
Or, just have an audio interface with 6 outputs with an active monitor
on front left, front right, center, rear left and rear right (outputs
1-5,) and an active sub on output 6, creating your own routing matrix
through Reaper.
