I don't think so.
At least not in the high end professional arena,
because dedicated higher end hardware still benefits from a proprietary 
system like asio, which is tried and true and can still perform better 
than any of the low latency modes for MS.

But for garden variety hardware,
and using your onboard sound card,
class compliant devices and the like, it's really a nice improvement, 
because we now have something approaching what the mac has with core audio.

In windows 10 it's a lot better than it was in 7.

So far I have not been able to get wasapi mode to work in anything above 
48k.
but it's pretty slick if you're happy with that and
for the moment wasapi is working better on the w10 machine than asio is,
but I think this is down to some chipset thing with the USB which there 
may be no solution for on this particular machine.
I bet if I put a thunderbolt or card based interface of some kind in 
this machine asio would rock and roll.
I say this because even in foobar2000,
I get audio glitches with USB, and that's not even low latency, 
something screwy is goin on.
