I wouldn’t renew the warranty with a store that isn’t willing to crack open a manual and help you set up a unit personally. Regarding Roland support i have called them up numerous times over the years and they had know problems helping me learn button layouts and etc so thats not the issue here. In this case you do need someone to walk through the process and do it as there is no real accessible way to do that yourself really. I would definitely see if roland is willing to set it up for you if you can get it to them. Now that would be some excellent support on their part. Otherwise like Chris said get on the V Guitar forums and see if anyone is local to you and mind helping there is a massive Guitar forum community out there, google should be able to direct you to it pretty quickly.
