GK3 is actually a midi pick up as its converting the guitar pitch data into midi data for the synth to use. the GK plug is proprietary to roland gear and others companies that license it however so yeah you can’t just plug it straight into a computer. roland once made a gk3 to USB midi interface which allowed you to do pretty much what i wanted so i could always grab one of those off eBay if i go that route. Bummer about the local store, its stores like that why i do more shopping online these days lol. If you can’t support me what advantage do you have especially if i can avoid paying sales tax on line. lol. Fortunately the one major music store around where ei am currently has knowledgeable staff. The Pod HD may or may not be easier to navigate but i still find plug ins easier to deal with no memorization needed there and like i said sometime si only get to crack the DAW open on the weekends these days.
