[Rwp] Anyone successfully tracking midi in Reaper?

Hey Chris,
This setup you've been advocating lately?  Is this basically sound on sound? 
So, this is for when you want new recordings to add to what's already there, 
not to replace it.
Is that right?  So, what do you do when you want to punch in and replace 
stuff.
