[Rwp] Automating mutes?

So there is no way to record automation in real time while the project is
playing?

I've gotten volume and pan automation to work pretty well, but never did
mutes yet in reaper.

but the easy answer is to split items, and then turn your items all the way
down to inf, that would fake automate it someone else can give you a better
answer.
