[Rwp] Automating mutes?

Hi & Greetings from The Great Southern Land,

If you are trying to get the Automation to work just for ‘muting’, then probably disregard this email.

However, to get the drums ‘Muted’ where you want them to be so...

Select the Drum Trak
Select the Item where the Drums are you wish to be Muted
Split the Item where you wish the Mute to Start and End
Select that New Item you have just created
Press TAB
The second parameter is Mute On/Off ..

Kind regards

Ok, sorry I jacked this thread, but I don’t think my messages are going to the list directly for some reason. Anyway… Here’s my issue..

I want to record automation to a track in the form of mutes to drop out drums. I don’t know how to insert a mute or whatever while recording. I try to record, but it wants to record over the track. How do I record automation in real time?

Thx for the help…

You always could try VielKlang Instant Harmonizer, but good freaking luck figurring it out. Don't know about Reaper, but at least with ProTools, after I installed it, I couldn't find the stupid thing anywhere in my DAW. Maybe you'll have better luck though with Reaper. It's worth a try.

Chris.

When you say "harmonized voice," do you want one key to generate all those midi notes? There are a few options to play with there. Or, are you talking more along the lines of something like the TC Helicon Voiceworks/VoiceLive/Digitech Vocalist, generating harmony with vocals based on midi input?
