[Rwp] Automating effects

What about control surface support? Is it easy to tell Reaper to control volume, pan and plugin parameters with knobs on a control surface? I heard a podcast from someone who was using Reaper with Jaws to automate plugins with his control surface using midi learn. Are people able to do this with Osara? Thanks.
