Justin:

My name is Ernest. I'd really like to get some reaper training from you if
at all possible because you know quite a bit. Can we make it happen?I want
to be as compotent with reaper and either reaacces or osara as I am with
Sonar and CakeTalking.

I have two versions of Reaper set up, one with Rea Access, the other with
Osara. I'm coming to use osara more and more.

side-chaining certainly would be a way of doing it, or else you could simply
split the track into two items, Reaper is more about items than time
selections, and reduce the second item, the one with the music, by 10 DB.

Recording with Reaper simply involves setting your input device in the
devices section of the preferences tree, monitoring the track and arming it,
then pressing record. I would probably use Rea Access for metering in that
instance,

I'm the one who introduced Mike to Reaper, and to this list. Could he use a
sidechain maybe to accomplish his task?

Also, he and I both are trying to decide which would be better for him:
ReaAccess, or Asara?

I'm not sure where, nor how to help him get Asara set up, but I'm thinking
that's gonna be his best bet, as far as addons go.

Good day to everyone on this amazing list!

My name is Michael Babcock as obvious from the name field in my email
account!

I'm a new member to this list because I recently downloaded the REAPER
Application to my computer. Note, I am currently primarily using OS X
version 10.11, with voiceover; I also have windows 10 installed via
BootCamp and have no problem with using it in combination with jaws 16.

First of all, I'm not a musician at all! When I sing people run for the
woods, and when I attempt to put my own musical tracks together, they just
don't sound good to me. That might also have something to do with the fact
that I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my own work, which as you probably
know we are our own worst critics. That being said however, I've put myself
on my own personal campaign of putting together one podcast per day at
least, through the end of the year. I've done pretty good so far if you ask
me! If I don't have unique content, I'll grab my periscope videos that I
shoot and import them into my audio editor to produce them as a podcast.
That's where your help comes in.

Yesterday I was easily able to import the video that I extracted from
periscope and use airdrop to transfer to my mac, and I was even able to add
an introduction and Outtro audio files to this video, then rendered it into
mp3 for use on Libsyn. However, it doesn't sound the way that I'd like it
to, and if I describe what I'm looking for maybe you'll be able to give me a
hand. The introduction file that I use is 53 seconds long, the first 16
seconds are vocals from a guy named Tim who introduces me to my podcast
listeners. The remaining 37 seconds is music that he is added to the end of
the introduction vocals for me to talk over. So, what I like to do in most
cases, is drop this last 37 seconds of audio to -10DB so my vocals are her
just fine. My first question is what would be the easiest way to do this, in
other audio editing programs I've set a marker at the 16 second point,
extende selection to the end of the audio, and used amplify FX to amplify
the sound by -10 DB. could someone explain to me exactly how I would do this
in REAPER, either an OS X or windows? Note, I've not installed any add-ons
for REAPER. If they are recommended to make it more accessible please
include a reference link so that I can download any addons that you
recommend!

So that's great if I want to import audio recorded out in the field through
third-party sources, normally my phone. However, what if I wanted to record
a podcast live, directly within REAPER? Could someone also advise on how I
could do this, as I've never recorded anything within the REAPER Application
itself before.

Make today the best day of your life, and then do it again tomorrow.

Thanks for your help
