[Rwp] A Basic Question about Ripple Editing

Ok,
I split the first item exactly at 2 seconds and after deleting the 2nd
resulting item it's exactly as I want it to be, but I still don't
understand why it isn't enough to just change the length of the item
in the properties dialogue.
