But Sonar also has a master track,  did you not use it in Sonar, cuz it pretty much serves the same purpose there as it does in any other DAW. it’s the last “Bus” that the audio passes through before it hits your sound card hardware. You can control the master volume or add effects to the entire project from there. Busses work the same in reaper also as they do in Sonar. only difference is you don’t have to specify it as a bus. Just create a new track put fx on it and send any other tracks to it, and it will become a bus. 
www.reaperaccess.com is probably a good place to start getting familiar with the basics as they relate to reaper.
