[Rwp] Creating Items

Remember that inserting a file on a track automatically creates an item.
Keeping this in mind, here is my sort of rambley workflow for this sort
of thing.
Insert the source file you want to use on a track, then use ripple
editing for just that track, taking care not to make item splits on
other tracks, cut and split items as necessary with that track soloed,
so I don't have to care about other stuff on the timeline or on other
tracks. Then, after making the splits necessary for the project, select
and cut the items you want to use, then paste where they should go in
context, killing off items you don't need. Depending on the situation,
it sometimes makes sense to glue items so that just the relevant
portion(s) of audio are rendered out as separate takes, and the rest can
be discarded. Sort of a hybrid of destructive and non-destructive
editing processes.
Or, sometimes I just can't be bothered with all that, and go into
SoundForge.
Aren't options wonderful?
