Also the only reason you would want to turn off send to master is if you don’t want the dry signal blended back in. if this is a bus for reverb or similar effect you may want to leave the dry signal being sent to the master to blend the reverb signal with it. This is what most pros do usually and the way busses work in Pro Tools and Sonar unless you change the output to the bus. Changing the output to go to the bus in Proo Tools and or Sonar is the equivalent of unchecking the send to master in reaper.
Also to speed up workflow on the bus track you can press I and add a receive to that track from all the tracks you want to have sent there. The advantage of this is you can set up a receive for all the tracks in one window where as to do a send you will have to go to each track you want to send individually.
