[Rwp] midi editing in reaper

okay, I am trying to do a midi sequence in reaper, and I want to get rid of some bad notes; however, the midi editor in reaper does not allow me to hear any of the notes recorded, which makes it a little difficult for me to make the edits.   what can I do to change this situation?   is there a configuration that can allow me to hear all the recorded notes?   thanks.
