I'll have to revisit this.
Seems like when I tried to over-ride automation which was already there,
it made a big mess, a DAW should
in other words, if you write automation just to keep your slider put, 
and then later need to do it again,
with different values, you might get in trouble.

I just have never yet been able to make reaper behave the way I want,
other than the slice and dice method everybody is using for fake automation.

But I'll keep pecking away at it,.
