Just as a thought, if you think it is the VST with the sample loading 
causing the problems, try rendering the VST to a Stem, or just Freeze the 
VST.

Then try rendering the project out...

Never mind, hold that thought. Just tried to render again with that
option turned on, and it still crashes. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!
