[Rwp] standard way of getting an initial patch on all vst's so i can start sound disigne?

hi all, 

my question is this is there a standard way e.g. by using keyboard shortcuts or selecting surten settings that i can get an initial patch up on a vst so i can do sound design avoiding using vst synth’s pre-sets? and will this way work for all vst synths? 

if there isn’t would i be able to create or chain together a set of actions to do this? 

your help with this question would be most welcome!! kind regards trey.
