Interestingly, I actually find modified keys very quick to hit. My
fingers automatically snap to the typing positions (and I'm already in
those positions for other actions), so all I have to do is drop my hand
to the modifiers, which is almost instantaneous, rather than having to
move my hand to the top row of the keyboard and count keys or even look
for a dot. Maybe I'm an exception to the rule, though. I also find it
rather easy to hit key combinations which most people complain are like
doing finger acrobatics. I wonder if that has something to do with piano
playing? <shrug>
I considered having mute, solo and arm as m, s and a, but the problem is
that this changes default REAPER commands, which I'm also not a fan of
doing.
