[Rwp] [RWP] OSARA, an open-source ReaAccess replacement in development

Oh sure, true of course, old dogs, and new, but equivalent tricks.
It takes a while to retrain, and a bit of patience. After a month or two of
annoyance, you soon get over it. Hopefully, it was all for a good cause.
But, ergonomically, commonly pressed key strokes are not good candidates for
modifiers. In my mind, that most critically pertains to arm and unarm.
Mute and solo are much less common for me.
But, what would be bad, are changes that would cause an old, innocuous
action, to translate to a new and more dramatic action. That used to be
the solo command. But, now, in the new world, it means delete all tracks
and reformat your hard drive. Sorry about that. Have a nice day.

Fair point. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the whole key map was well
thought out, actually it's a bit of a mess in places. Think what's occurring
here in part is a case of old dogs and new tricks.
Myself included.

their preferences. My point is that if even I (as the primary author) am
using something different to the ReaAccess key map, I'd be very reluctant to
include a ReaAccess based key map as the default. At the very least, that
key map is harder to learn initially. This is why I haven't included a key
map at all at this point. Perhaps we could include a ReaAccess key map as an
option, but I'm reluctant to make it a "default".
