Apply dymoTape with a dot marking to f5, f9 etc.  If you clean the key first
with alcohol, the adhesive  will stick better, and nto come off.  Makes it
much easier to find.

I agree that single key access is ideal. My problem is the function keys. On
many laptops (including the one I use), the function keys aren't separated
at any point, so you have to count them if you want to hit a particular key.

Totally agree. But you also don't have to count potentially 13 keys to
manage it and the buttons are arranged more optimally for mixing.
