That sounds like no item is selected at the time you do the s command.
Shift+a should select the item under the cursor. Maybe that will help.

Hi,
Am I doing something wrong here, or 'others seeing this as well.
When I make a split on a track, all goes as expected, but if Iattempt to
make another about half of the time I get the message "0 items added". Any
ideas on why this occurs? I am probably doing something wrong, but can't for
the life of me figure out what it may be.
I am using the latest reaper 64bit on Windows 7 64bit with NVDA, if that
matters.
