Yeah, that's not really a fair comparison though.   Sad to say, but 
providing access for us is hard work.  It really doesn't matter how much 
they charge the sighties for the application, with its default visual 
interface,  since they happen to be able to use it with no additional 
effort.  But, we are not in that category, as much as we would like to be. 
Sad to say, unfair as it is, The world isn't made for us.  And, somebody has 
to pay the heavy price to try to make it that way.  Bottom line, your daw, 
one you can actually use, is more expensive, because there is additional 
work that must be done, and  there aren't enough of us to spread the cost 
out.
Somebody has to pay that price.

About porting HSC sets, this really should be easier than it seems to be. 
And, part of the reason it is as difficult as it is, is that HSC has a 
number of positioning methods, which, if properly applied, can restrict 
offsets to the context of a particular window, wherever that window happens 
to reside today.  That should allow the window to slide around, wherever it 
wants, and the HSC offsets remain correct.  But, understanding when you can, 
and when you can not use those methods, is not easy, not obvious, and a 
mistake that I myself might very well make.  So, I'm guessing that these 
problem sets are using positioning methods that are less portable.  Thus, 
the size of the problem.
But, if you look at the list Chris offers, there are heaps of things to 
adjust now.
But, there is a thing called Global Offsets in HSC, about which I remember 
very little now, but it might offer a method to correct lots of spots at 
once, assuming the dimensions of the pluggin window have remained the same.
