[Rwp] Dynamic EQ Anyone?

I am not at all against paying people for their time for something I want.
Especially supporting others who are blind that are offering useful
services,
taking care of our own.
Example, we host our website with another blind person.
But something like superior drummer isn't so clear cut.
Because there are many ways of getting good drum sample playback.
Some sample libraries are locked down with a particular drum tool, if
you just happen to like the particular samples that superior uses, then
you have no other recourse.
But if you are happy buying samples and making your own libraries,
and having the freedom to configure them anyway you like, then it's
another matter entirely.
If I hadn't learned to use sfz and create my own libraries, i would
probably have bought Phil's hsc stuff.
to get good cdrum playback.
But since I understand the basics of sample playback, and can program up
my own,
without having to navigate a difficult and finicky interface, then that
works for me.
Reaper itself doesn't have a particjular great sampler system,
but sforzando is wonderful, and if you need complex layering and
different key sswitching and say you have a snare with 4 mic layers, and
such, you can definitely make that work.
I have actually taken a complex
library with different micing layers and adapted it to sfz, and assigned
cc values to bring them in and out.
Much easier than dealing with an interface to do that,
also much easier to assign my own key mapping,
of course, editing text files isn't everybody's cup of tea, but just
saying, it is possible
to take control of your creativity in other ways than going the way of
the herd, who thinks that well, everyone else is using blah blah kontakt
library, or everyone else has this module, so that's the only way to do it.
I don't believe in being different just for it's own sake, but for me,
sighted help being scarce, and being in the sort of do it yourselfer
category, and considering it a challenge and a good learning experience
to come up with good alternative ways of doing things,
or simplifying work flow, often you don't need the complexity
of 17 room mics, and 14 ambiant layers,
and so on and so forth.
Let's take a simpler example for instance, everyone goes crazy over some
drum trigger product that's out there,
on you tube and wants to use it, but right here in reaper, there's a
very nice drum trigger replacer tool,
I have found that in my years of teaching, people often don't know half
the stuf that's in their daw,
they just look at what's being offered on the advertising shelf, and
say, wow, I need that.
But if they dug in their own tool box, they might be surprised.
at what's hiding there.
