Hi Scott.
Which sets? For Superior Drummer? No, and I'm not
sure if he will be working on adapting them for
Reaper folks because, from his point of view,
people probably won't pay anything for them. I
hope I'm incorrect there. I'm picking them up,
along with Superior Drummer itself, and I guess
I'll be keeping sonar on the system awhile longer to use them.
I do see his point. These sets are very complex,
and take dozens if not hundreds of hours to
develop, and Reaper folks tend not to buy stuff.
Apparently Steve at vipaudioaccess.com isn't
adapting his various sets either, for the same reason.
Of course, if I'm wrong and people here would
actually pay for this, by all means, contact phil
or Steve and let them know. So far, I'm the only
person to inquire to Phil about adapting his Superior Drummer stuff for Reaper.
Let's look at what Phil's HSC sets give access to:
Superior Drummer 2.2.3 Through Superior Drummer 2.4 Access
Sonar's Preset List,
You will be able to Register a new library or,
Superior Drummer 2 it's self with the .HSC sets,
the Load/Save button where you load Superior 2
Projects into Superior Drummer 2,
The presets ok button,
the Select another expansion pack button,
Help menu,
the Mixer Presets in the Mixer Window,
The Bounce Through Mixer toggle,
The All Bleed,
The Split From Bleeding,
The split from microphone options,
the Record button in the bounce Window,
the Bit Depth control in the bounce Window,
the Bounce Button,
the Close Bounce Window button,
The 32 pads, where you can choose which type of
kick, snare, tom cymbals etc that you want to use in your kit,
The 23 Mic outputs that can be used to assign
the microphones to separate outputs in Sonar,
The 23 MicLabels for the 23 microphone outputs that can be renamed,
14 faders that can be altered,
The pree mixer volume,
The Master volume,
The E Z Mixer
the 12 mono and 2 stereo pans in the mixer,
The 14 fades that are used to control the bleed tales,
The 14 bleed mutes,
The 32 solos and mutes for the various drum pads
and you can tell what the status of those buttons are,
The Total And Loaded button that tells you how much RAM your currently using
The memory limit button, where you can type in
exactly how much RAM you want to assign Superior Drummer 2 to use,
The Voice and layer button, where you can choose what is loaded into memory.
The MIDI menu,
The kit menu where you can choose how large a
kit you would like to load E.G, a basic kit, full
kit, EZ Drummer kit or in the case of various
SDX's/EZX sets, which electronic kit you want to use.
The tool settings menu button to change from sticks to brushes etc,
The X-Drums menu where you can add an X-Drum
from another library to the library that your currently using,
The Sound Library Menu where you choose which
library you want the X-Drum to come from,
The X-Drum Chooser menu where you choose what
you want the X-Drum to be E.G, Kick, Snare etc,
The MIDI Assignments For X-Drums Menu where you
choose what assignments your X-Drum will use For
example, in the case of a snare, default, second position etc,
The Tool Settings For X-Drums menu, where you
can choose if your X-Drum uses sticks, brushes
etc. Note: this button is not available in all libraries,
The Soft button,
The Gradient button,
And the hard button,
Superior Drummer 2.2.3 Through Superior Drummer 2.4 Electronic EZX Access
It is possible to access everything in the standard set plus the following:
The 41 pads, where you can choose which type of
kick, snare, tom cymbals etc that you want to use in your kit,
The 41 solos
The 41 mutes for the various drum pads and you
can tell what the status of those buttons are,
Do we have that sort of access to any other drum
programming type instruments in Reaper, on the PC?
Steve at vipaudioaccess has licensed HSC sets for the following:
* Spectrasonics-Omnisphere V1
* Spectrasonics-Stylus RMX
* Spectrasonics-Trilian
* iZotope-Stutter Edit
* iZotope-Stutter Edit Expansion Pack 1
* Celemony-Melodyne Assistant Stand-Alone
* Project Sam-Orchestral
Melodyne doesn't run inside of Reaper, so its sets work as is.
Alternatives for the others though??
